The Lord Mayor’s procession 8th of November
The Lord Mayor’s procession dates back to 1215, the newly elected Mayor travels along a 3 mile route (also known as the Square Mile) from Mansion House to the Royal courts where the Lord Mayor has to pledge allegiance to the Crown before the Lord Chief Justice and the judges of the Queen’s Bench Division. The procession normally starts at 11am after an RAF flypast, the return journey goes from Victoria Embankment, returning to Mansion House about 4pm & finishes off at 5pm with a massive fireworks display between Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges.
